  • Recognizes abnormal, pertinent findings, and initiates referrals or consultations accordingly
  • Conduct pre-transplant interviews with prospective transplant patients and families. Interpret eligibility criteria for patients, families, physicians, and outside agencies
  • Prepare and analyze pre-transplant clinical data and collaborate with other medical personnel in preparation of patients and families for transplantation
  • Coordinate pre-transplant preparations
  • Ensure patient and family education in all aspects of transplantation
  • Compose written transplant summaries and clinic visits
  • Coordinate post-discharge planning and education for transplant patients
  • Compile and review post-discharge data for clinical management of transplant patients
  • Provide direct care to transplant patients in the Outpatient Transplant Clinic
  • Collaborate with medical faculty, other transplant coordinators, nursing personnel, case management, social workers , transplant pharmacists transplant dieticians, and other health disciplines to facilitate meeting patient and family needs. Coordinate and lead the transplant selection meetings, document the decisions made by the team
  • Provide on-call service on evenings, weekends, and holidays when the transplant Services and Clinics are closed
  • Responsible for completing charge capture education and in-service training for their Institute within CCAD. When charges are not captured automatically, the nurse will complete within Epic in real time, Perioperative Services within 24 business hours


  • minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required; A Master’s degree in Nursing is preferred
  • Postgraduate/certification in a relevant nursing specialty is preferred
  • 5 years of clinical nursing experience
  • Progressive nursing experience with demonstrated success in the relevant nursing specialty (for example: caring for transplant patients in ICU or ACU)
  • Clinical nursing experience in the ACU and ICU is preferred
  • Two (2) years of relevant nursing specialty experience (example: transplant) is preferred
  • valid and current national license is required
  • BLS is required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Experience with electronic medical records is strongly preferred
  • The ability to speak and write in Arabic is preferred
